He is now an influential director - having directed over 40 productions around the UK, from Shakespeare to musicals - as well as a cutting-edge writer.Willmott is the artistic director of his own multi-award-winning theatre company, The Steam Industry, and an associate director of The Kings Head Theatre. He has been a regular critic for What's On in London magazine and BBC Radio's "The Lavender Lounge", as well as appearing as a guest on many other BBC radio shows, including Ned Sherrin's "Loose Ends".
