Oliver Sacks is a neurologist and the author of many books, including The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, An Anthropologist on Mars, Uncle Tungsten: Memories of a Chemical Boyhood, and Awakenings. His 10th book, Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain, part of which ran in the July 23rd 2007 issue of The New Yorker, came out in October 2007. He has been a contributor to the magazine since 1992.
